I wanted to try out the gorgeous nail polishes that Cathy from
Need More Nails sent me but I couldn't decide on a colour. Therefore I decided to use two of the colours :)
A quick layer of Revlon Gel Nail Hardener for my base coat. On my left hand I put Ulta3 Waterlily on my index, middle and pinkie fingers and then Ulta3 Bo Peep on my thumb and ring fingers. Then for my right hand I applied Waterlily and Bo Peep in the opposite order. I used Revlon Colorstay Top Coat and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Drops.
I've used the Revlon top coat before but not for quite some time and I forgot that it has such a long dry time, even with the quick dry drops. With my other top coats I usually use the drops and then about 2 hours later head to bed, since I almost always do my nails at night. The following morning my nails are fine, but with the Revlon top coat three hours wasn't long enough because I had sheet marks on my nails the next day :( Not a happy camper!
Now before I head onto the actual pictures I have a question. I use Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream after painting my nails and when I rub it in I rub it all over my nail and use that as a guide to what my polish would look like with a matte top coat. So my question is: does anyone else do this? And do you think it actually looks matte?
