You will need:
- A cup of water
- Nail Decals
- Tweezers
- Scissors
- Top Coat
- Pad of paper
Step 1: Remove the water decals from the package and pull off the protective layer if there is one.
Step 2: Individually cut out the nail decals that you want to put onto your nails. In this case I was using one decal for each nail so I cut out ten decals.
Step 3: Doing one nail at a time, place a water decal into the cup of water. These decals only took about 15 seconds.
Step 4: After the allotted time remove the decal from the water and place it facing down onto the index finger of the opposite hand you plan to place the decal on.
Step 5: Use your thumb to rub against the white backing and it should easily slide away leaving only the water decal stuck to your finger. If the white backing won't come off place the decal back into the water, wait some extra time and then try again.
Step 6: Place the water decal onto your nail. Don't worry if you don't get it in the right position on your first try as you can still move the decal around for quite awhile and these ones aren't easy to break.
Step 7: Once you have finished one nail repeat the previous steps to place the other nail decals.
Step 8: Use paper towelling to absorb the water and press the water decal flat. Apply a top coat to seal in the water decals.
Tips:
- Cut out all the decals you are going to be using before you start applying the decals
- It is best to do one hand at a time
- After doing one hand I suggest using tweezers to remove the decal from the water to stop the decals already placed from moving around.
- Don't use tissue to press the water decals down and absorb water as it will leave lint behind
What a wonderful tutorial!! These look like so much fun to use! :D
ReplyDeleteI would never have guessed that you slide the decal onto your skin before pressing it on!
When I was applying my first decal I was worried it would stick to my finger but you can move them around really easily!
DeleteSo simple and pretty - love em :)
ReplyDeleteI love water decals too! I was surprised by how easy they were to use and so glad that you could move them into the perfect position :)
DeleteI use these a lot since they are fast, the ones I get look really nice or are plain fun and theme oriented, and they are not expensive.
