Nails Inc House Of Parliament with Matte Top Coat

Just a quick post today. I wanted an easy way to change up my mani so I added a layer of Essie Matte About You.

Want to see some pictures...

Khaki Green with Matte Flakies

I decided to mix up my China Glaze Westside Warrior manicure by adding flakies! So I added a single coat of Australis Speck-tacular. To level it out I added a coat of Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat.

This was my manicure with the top coat, taken in artificial light.

As was my original intention, I then added a coat of Essie Matte About You. Then I took these photos in artificial light also.

Then I took these photos in the sunlight the following day

And a single lonely photo in the shade :)

This was the first time I have applied a matte top coat to flakie and I like it! It gives such a unique manicure and the flakies are still just as gorgeous.

Sally Hansen Digital with Matte Black Tips

Since Sally Hansen Digital pulled away from the tips of my nails showing the black undercoat I decided to added French black tips to my nails to cover it up. I had really shaky hands so decided to use scotch tape as a guide to paint on the tips. However, the tape I used wasn't that good so the lines aren't that crisp. If my hands weren't that shaky I could probably have gotten a cleaner line free-handing it. I then decided it needed something more so I added Essie Matte About You to the black tips only.

These photos were taken that night in artificial light.

Then these photos were taken in the natural light the following day.

It's not my best work but it was a good solution to the tip debacle since I didn't want to have to take the colour off since I love Digital over black. I think I would've done a better job doing my tips freehand but this was a quick fix situation so I could wear the colour for a few more days. It also meant the the black around the edges of my manicure looked better since it matched my tips!

Wow how good do all these colours look with a matte top coat! So just a short post today - my manicure from yesterday slightly tweaked! I love this just as much as I loved my candy skittles from yesterday. Part 3 coming tomorrow :)
